Combat Zone - Beef, Pork, Poultry, Vegetables
You cannot honor Boston, and it’s rich history without bringing up the seedy past of the area known as the “Combat Zone.” This notorious area thrived from 1960 to 1993 and was located on Washington Street between Boylston Street and Kneeland Street. It was an area known for its adult entertainment such as x-rated movie houses, strip clubs, bars, and peep shows. Now, most of the area has been converted into luxury condos and trendy restaurants.
Boston Spices "Combat Zone" is a spicy rub that is less sweet than most rubs. We stripped ours down to the boldest essentials: chili powder, oregano, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon.
Try our "Combat Zone" rub on beef, pork, and poultry, if you are in the mood for some forbidden adult flavors. This rub will have you licking your fingers for sure!
Lightly coat your food with oil and use about 2 to 3 teaspoons per pound of meat or sprinkle liberally over your vegetables. Then cook to your liking.
How about some "Combat Zone" wings? In a bowl, toss your wings with a little oil. Then add a few tablespoons (give or take) of our "Combat Zone" spice blend, and toss everything around until the wings are well coated. Cook these soon-to-be wicked tasty wings on your grill, in your smoker, or in your oven. HUZZAH!!!
