Originally called the Bloody Massacre in King Street, by the Boston residents of the 18th century, the Boston Massacre, as it is now known throughout Boston today, took place on the night of March 5th, 1770. Boston residents were rebelling against the British Army's occupation of their town. Eight British soldiers fired into a mob of civilians killing three instantly, and two others were fatally wounded and died later. This day is recreated every year in Boston at the site of the event.
