Boston Spice General Gingerbread Baking Seasoning Mix

General Gingerbread Spice Blend

Piernicki (Pierniczki), are Polish Gingerbread cookies. In Germany, they are called Lebkuchen or Pfefferkuchen. In English, they are called Gingerbread Cookies.

What gives Piernicki cookies their distinct flavor is the use of chocolate in the gingerbread spice. We decided to create a spice that blends the flavors of gingerbread, with the uniqueness of cocoa powder.

Here in America, our founding father, George Washington played a part in the gingerbread story. His mother, Mary Ball Washington, is said to have served her gingerbread to the French General Marquis de Lafayette. Her famous recipe came to be known as Lafayette Gingerbread. Boston Spice combined the best of both worlds together to create our General Gingerbread spice. We combined cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and other spices to make this baking spice, the traditional Piernicki way. Even George's mother would agree, our General Gingerbread spice blend gets a five-star rank.
