Boston Spice Brahma Seasoning Blend

Boston Brahma is a delicate blend of coriander, cumin, turmeric, ginger, and other exotic flavors. This Indian spice blend was named after the Brahma Chicken, which became popular here in Boston in the 1800s. This flavorful spice can be used on chicken, turkey, fish, corn on the cob, and we even made a dip from it. We combined 2TBLS of the spice with 3/4 cup plain greek yogurt and 1/4 cup sour cream. We tried it on veggies and potato chips too. Don’t be a chicken, when it comes to using this flavorful spice. Also, sprinkle some into a steak stir fry.

Over 10,000 people came to the park to see the Boston Poultry Show.  This was the first poultry show in the United States. There were 219 chicken exhibitors and another 1423 showing other fine feathered friends.

The Boston Poultry Show is now known as the Boston Poultry Expo and held in North Oxford, Massachusetts, and still touted as the First and Oldest Poultry Show in America.

The Brahma chicken is praised for its large size. It is sometimes called the King of All Poultry, and in 1850 helped start America's love for chickens.
