This community, known as Salem, was home to a group of Puritans. Two girls, nine-year old Elizabeth Parris and eleven-year old Abigail Williams began to experience fits and other mysterious behaviors. A doctor examined them and concluded they were suffering from the effects of witchcraft. This began the Salem Witch Hunt.
